Kim Carroll came into town! I met Kim in 2002 when I lived in Ellicott City, MD. We've stayed in touch, but it's been about 4 years since I last saw her in person.

She arrived on Friday with a little daylight remaining. So we went on a short walk/hike, saw some prairie dogs doing their nightly scrambling, and watched as the sun set over the mountains.

Then we went down to Pearl Street to see the sites and grab something to eat. Later we ended up tipping and taking pictures of any street performers we could find. It was late, so many of them were already packing up...but we caught a couple good songs before the night was over.

This guy was playing tunes in memory of Bo Diddley.

We talked this guy into playing us one last little number before he packed it up for the night. The hang drums he's playing are expensive percussive instruments, that were developed in 2000 and only built in a couple places in the world. You'll either pay a major premium, or be on a long waiting list to get your hands on one.
